Web Services and Application Developer

Enthought, Inc. is a small, scientific software development company headquartered in Austin, Texas. We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Web Services and Application Developer to design and implement a robust online infrastructure that will greatly extend the capabilities of our current website and web-based products.

This position requires a strong Python developer with experience in web services, e-commerce, and database development. Candidates should be interested in a broad range of experiences as the role will also stretch into both rich client and web UI development. They should have three or more years experience designing, coding, and testing complex web applications, with an emphasis on the back-end. A solid understanding of Linux server administration is essential. Enthought is focused on building high quality, well-tested feature sets, and we are looking for an individual that shares this vision.

Specific tasks may include:

• Design, implement, and debug new online systems for content delivery — primarily streaming video.
• Re-engineer and streamline our online shopping system.
• Help drive the internal adoption of new web development technologies, with an open-source bias.
