The appointment of Mii marks a strategic acceleration of Enthought's mission to bring agentic and intelligence-scaling strategies to Japan’s R&D organizations, moving beyond the pre-AI digital transformation approach toward a new paradigm. 

Enthought has had a strong presence in Japan since 2018 and is known for its specialized expertise in scientific domains, advanced AI/ML techniques, and software development. Toshio Mii’s global business development experience and deep expertise in converting cutting-edge technologies into business value will be key drivers in advancing the company's strategies and market growth. In addition to an engineering background, he brings a wealth of multinational expertise in the semiconductor and healthcare sectors.

In Mii’s previous role, he led manufacturing and semiconductor market business development for Japan and the Asia-Pacific region at Amazon Web Services (AWS). He previously served as Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer at GE Healthcare, spearheading the transformation of its digital healthcare business. Mii began his career with a 27-year tenure at  IBM, holding various technical and executive roles focused on advanced technology and leading global semiconductor development alliances. He holds a Ph.D. and an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Duke University and a B.S. from Keio University.
