While domain expertise and strong technical skills are almost always required, we tend to weigh "really smart", "highly productive", and "dedicated to developing quality products" more heavily than any specific skill set or degree. - You will help develop scientific applications for domains ranging from geophysics to fluid dynamics to financial analysis.
- You can combine advanced algorithm development with modern software engineering practices, such as component-based architectures, application scripting, and user-centered interaction design.
- You can participate in a holistic approach to software development, in which architects and developers team with technical writers, human factors specialists, and project managers (always highly technical individuals) to develop a complete solution for customers.
