Toshifumi Arai

Toshifumi holds a B.S. in information science from Tokyo Institute of Technology. He completed his Doctoral Program in the Graduate School of Business Sciences at University of Tsukuba.

Specializing in programming languages and human-interface domains, his expertise extends from embedded systems to machine learning and is focused on applying digital technology to address diverse business challenges. He has worked on a wide range of projects that include: wearable devices; Augmented Reality (AR); human-interface devices; networked home appliances; IoT devices and systems; in-vehicle devices; and satellites.

Before joining Enthought, Toshifumi worked with the research laboratories at Hitachi Ltd. and gained experience at Citizen Group and related startups. He has served as a visiting researcher at Georgia Tech, in the U.S., and Guest Lecturer at Ibaraki University, in Japan.

In addition to his commitment to coding, Toshifumi takes pleasure in cycling, photography, and hands-on DIY projects. Sharing in sports with his child and collecting rocks along the shores of his hometown are among his cherished past times.
